Titan Robotics Wins, Advances to 2012 World Championship!

International School’s Titan Robotics Club (TRC, Team #492) and their alliance partners,  Tahoma Senior High School (Team #2046) and Riverview/Camas/Washougal High Schools (Team #2471), won the 2012 Seattle Cascade FIRST Robotics Regional. The FIRST Rebound Rumble emulated the NCAA March Madness with 3-point baskets, roaring fans and dancing mascots. TRC’s robot was a solid team player scoring points in all aspects of th
e  competition.

During the 2-day Cascade Regional, TRC competed with 45 other teams from Washington, Oregon, Mexico and Turkey. The “coopetition” consisted of changing three-team alliances with robots designed to shoot and defend baskets, rebound balls and balance on “seesaw” bridges.

TRC’s achievement qualifies them to compete in the 2012 FIRST Robotics World Championships in St. Louis April 25-28. Congratulations to the TRC students – what a way to celebrate 20 years of excellence at the International School!
